Grundfos Comfort Hot Water Circulator System
This month's Product of the Month is the Grundfos Comfort pump system, which has been specially designed for domestic hot water supply recirculation applications.
Traditional Hot water recirculation installation can prove to be very difficult and impractical to install into existing homes. Some company’s have designed large under sink systems that prove to be cumbersome to install and very inefficient to operate.
Through innovation Grundfos are able to offer the Comfort system that provides convenience and Comfort of HOT water in an instant.
How does the Comfort System Work?
- When your tap is off hot water cools in your water pipes.
- Water that cools overnight in hot water pipes must first bleed off prior to hot water arriving at the tap or shower.
- With the Grundfos Comfort System in place the cooled water will be circulated back through the cold tap allowing hot water to flow when required.
- The Grundfos Comfort System utilises the mains supply to eliminate the requirement of a return line. A small pump (the UP15-14BUT) is installed on the outlet pipe of the water heater to keep the water in your lines hot.
- The Valve at your furthers tap provides the bypass that allows the water to recirculate using the already installed cold water pipe as a return line to the hot water system.
- When the water temperature reaches 38degC at the valve it closes and stops the circulation process.
- The valve requires no electricity and is very easily installed.
- Together the Pump & Valve provide instant hot water to every tap and shower in the house when correctly installed.
